Derived from the mahjong term "ワンチャンス" (one chance), it settled into youth slang meaning "maybe it will work out" or "there is a possibility." ワンチャンある (wanchan aru) means "there is a shot," and ワンチャン行ける (wanchan ikeru) means "we might be able to pull it off." The meaning has expanded well beyond its original "one chance" — it now functions more like a casual "maybe" or "possibly" with an optimistic spin.
