Originally a Kansai dialect expression meaning 'I take no responsibility for what I just said,' added at the end of a sentence. It went nationwide in the late 2010s through social media and TV. Used when sharing rumors or uncertain information, it also softens strong opinions by making them feel less assertive. In Kansai, it can be a deliberate setup for a comedic comeback ('Wait, you don't even know?!'), but that cultural nuance doesn't carry to other regions.
